History & Mission

The Basic Needs Action Team was established in 1996 to determine how to aid the disadvantaged  individuals within our community. It was decided that a community-based thrift store should be opened, where the general public could donate their gently used goods for resale. Basic Needs has created a voucher system where individuals experiencing poverty can find and benefit from resources provided to the community through our stocked food shelf, thrift shop, community events and programs. We aim to improve our community and strengthen our community through serving those in need.
