Donations stay in your community.
When you donate to Basic Needs, ALL of your donation and money earned STAYS in the local community to help those in need. Please donate items in workable, sellable, and useable condition. See below for what donation items can be accepted at the Thrift Shop.
ITEMS WE ACCEPT
CLOTHING: all sizes
ACCESSORIES: belts, hats, purses, scarves, wallets, handbags, metal jewelry, luggage, gently used or new bras, etc.
HOUSEHOLD ITEMS: antiques, frames, artwork, decorations, clocks, kitchenware, knick-knacks, curtains, small rugs or carpets
SMALL APPLIANCES: vacuums, irons, toasters, griddles, space heaters, fans, popcorn machines, warming plates
BEDDING: blankets, sheet sets, quilts, bedspreads, throw pillows
ELECTRONICS: DVD players, bluray players, flat-screen TVs, CD players, gaming consoles, small stereos/not console style, small printer/scanners, computers, small bluetooth speakers
BOOKS: novels, children’s books, non-fiction books
OUTDOOR: in season only-lawn chairs, gardening tools, planters, seasonal outdoor items, electric weed eaters, electric snow blowers
MISCELLANEOUS: handheld tools, sporting goods, pet supplies, kids toys, games, small stuffed animals, small aquariums
NOTE: We DO accept used clothing, underwear, socks and other clothing in poor condition IF in a bag labeled “recycle”. We earn 3 cents per pound for recycled clothing.
**We reserve the right not to accept items in unsellable condition or that we cannot store.
*Holiday items will be accepted starting two months before a holiday, due to space/storage constraints.
ITEMS WE DO NOT ACCEPT
CLOTHING ACCESSORIES: NO used underwear, used socks (unless in a bag marked “recycle”)
MEDICAL ITEMS: No medical grade items accepted
ACCESSORIES: NO plastic or rubber jewelry or kids play jewelry
HOUSEHOLD ITEMS: NO large carpets, cabinets, medical equipment, blinds, curtain rods, curtain/window hardware
APPLIANCES: NO microwaves, clock radios, or any large appliance
BEDDING: NO mattresses, or bed pillows (unless in a bag market “recycle”)
ELECTRONICS: NO fax machines, large console speakers, VCR players, VHS tapes, console stereos, antennas, DVDs or CDs, large electronic devices
TEXTBOOKS/MAGAZINES: NO textbooks, magazines, encyclopedias
OUTDOOR: NO grills, mowers, or any gas powered items.
FURNITURE: NO indoor or outdoor furniture
MISCELLANEOUS: NO industrial tools, hard drives, baby cribs, baby/child car seats, strollers, pack n plays, bikes, bowling balls, large exercise equipment, car parts
Donation Hours
Mondays, 11am to 5 pm
Wednesdays 11 am to 5 pm
Saturdays 10 am to 3 pm
